These Terms govern use of the Ryval mobile application. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Use of the App

Ryval is a personal fitness tracking application provided for informational and personal fitness tracking purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Users agree to:

Use the App only for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms
Provide accurate profile information (weight, height, birth year, sex) for calculations
Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
Not use social features to harass, spam, or abuse other users

Health and Fitness Disclaimer

The App displays heart rate data, calorie estimates, fitness scores, GPS distance and pace, and other metrics as estimates only — not for medical decisions. Calorie calculations use published formulas (Keytel 2005, MET tables) and may not be accurate for all individuals. Fitness Scores are relative measures of weekly training activity and do not represent medical fitness assessments. GPS distance may vary based on signal quality and device capability. Users should consult healthcare professionals before modifying exercise programs and stop exercising if experiencing pain or dizziness.

Accounts and Authentication

The App offers optional sign-in via anonymous authentication or email magic links through Firebase. Social features (friends, challenges, workout sharing) require sign-in. Users are responsible for maintaining email access. The company reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating these Terms.

Your Data

Workout data, heart rate logs, GPS tracks, fitness scores, and body composition data are stored locally on your device. Social data (friend list, shared workouts, profile photo) is stored in Firebase when you sign in. Users are responsible for backing up data, though the App provides manual and automatic backup features without guaranteeing against loss.

Social Features

When you use social features, certain information is shared with accepted friends:

Your profile name and photo
Workout summaries (name, date, duration, calories) posted to the activity feed
Challenge invitations and results

You can remove friends, block users, or delete your account at any time to revoke access to your shared data.

Intellectual Property

The App and its content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and protected by intellectual property laws. Users cannot copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with Firebase (authentication, cloud storage, social data), OneSignal (push notifications), Android Health Connect (body composition), and Bluetooth heart rate monitors. Use is subject to respective terms and privacy policies. The company is not responsible for third-party availability, accuracy, or conduct.

Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties. The company is not liable for injuries, inaccurate calculations, data loss, GPS inaccuracies, or service interruptions.

Changes to These Terms

Updates will be posted with new effective dates. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

Termination

Users may uninstall the App anytime, removing all locally stored data. To delete cloud data, use Settings > Account > Delete Account or contact [email protected]. The company may discontinue the App or restrict access without notice.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by England and Wales law with exclusive jurisdiction in those courts.
